Since 2012, HopeMob has united hundreds of thousands of generous strangers around a simple idea: fund one urgent need at a time, completely.
Born from a vision of hope
HopeMob launched on April 19th, 2012, with a question: what if hundreds of thousands of strangers could come together online to transform one life at a time?
Within days, we were featured in O Magazine, CNN, and Mashable for our creative and practical approach to doing good in the world. The response proved what we always believed: people are inherently generous when given the right opportunity.
More than a decade later, that is still how HopeMob works. No sprawling campaigns and no scattered giving. The whole community gathers around one story, meets the need completely, and then moves on to the next one.

How the mob works

Someone facing real hardship, or a neighbor who knows them, sends us their story.
Every submission is read by our team and carefully vetted for authenticity, so the community can give with full confidence that the need is real.
The mob shows up
We tell that one story to our community across X and Facebook, and thousands of strangers rally behind it at once.
Because everyone's attention lands on the same story at the same moment, even small gifts stack into something enormous within days.
The need is fully met
Instead of spreading thin across many causes, the whole community funds one need completely.
That is what we call Quality Generosity: a family keeps their home, a medical bill disappears, a small dream gets funded, entirely and with dignity.
We report back
